I wanted to share with you one of my favorite recipes, it's the pork cheeks braised in beer
The cheek costs between 8 and 14 euros per kilo
In addition it's easy: it simmers it simmers, we forget it on the fire …
Well not too much either, should not it ties or it burns to have too much reduce
And for those who do not like beer, it is enough to replace it with cider, wine, a broth …
First, you need to get pork cheeks.
Go to your butcher. You should know that pork cheeks are part of the offal.
At first glance nothing glamorous. But the cheek has a separate status, it is sold like meat. But above all, it is even better than just sautéed pork because super melting!
Regarding beer, I took blonde. But you can very well put brown beer if you like, it goes perfectly
Moreover for beer lovers of Alsace, I have a nice address for you, this blog talks about the craft beer of Alsace, not to mention a very convenient map of all the places where you can find some
The little recipe also get with beef cheeks
But let's move on to the recipe

Heat the oil in a cast iron casserole or a large pot of a minute casserole, add the cheeks. When they are coloured on all sides, remove them.

When the onions are translucent, put the meat back on, add the bouquet garni, the grapes and the juniper berries. Season with salt and pepper. Pour in the beer. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes over low heat.
Peel the turnips and carrots, cut them into small pieces. Add them to the casserole and continue cooking for 30 minutes.
Cut the gingerbread slices into small cubes. Brown them quickly in the hot butter. Spread them over the meat on the plates.
The little history of beer
The inhabitants of Mesopotamia were the first, 6000 years ago, to produce beer.
After them, the Egyptians and then the Gauls will in turn make this beverage. Then women, monks and craftsmen will take over.
