How to make a successful burger bun

Hello greedy friends!

I suggest you find out how to make your burger bun. It's easy and so much better than industrial burger bread

It just takes a little patience, the rest time of the dough and of course the ingredients necessary to make it.

Preparation: 20 mln

Cooking time: 15 minutes

Rest: 1 hour 30 minutes

For 6 burger buns

  • 500 g of flour 
  • 10g sugar
  • 5 g salt
  • 15g fresh baking yeast
  • 30 cl milk
  • 20g butter
  • 1 egg
  • Sesame or poppy seeds

 

Realization 

Step 1

Dilute the fresh yeast in the lukewarm milk and let it sit for 10 minutes. 

Step 2

Mix flour, sugar and salt 

Step 3

Make a well in the center. Add lukewarm milk and baking yeast. Mix in a food processor with the hook. If you don't have a robot, you can do it by hand, it'll be a bit longer, but you'll get there!

Step 4

Knead dough for 10 minutes until soft and smooth

Step 5

Once the dough is kneaded, cover it with a cloth and let it grow for 1 hour and 30 minutes near a heat source, near a radiator for example in winter. In summer you can put your dough in a sunny place, finally not in full sun either lol
For my part, when it's cool or rainy, I use my oven and I put it at 30oC. I then put my tank of the robot or bowl covered with a clean and dry cloth inside my oven, the dough has grown well 

Step 6

Once the rest time has passed, degass the dough ie we reform a ball that you will hit with your fist all over its surface in order to chase away the air
Cut the dough into 6 equal parts. To do this weigh your dough and divide the total weight by 6. 

Step 7

Arrange the balls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, spacing them out enough so they don't touch each other. Allow to grow again for 30 minutes. (rest)

Step 8

Preheat the oven to 180oC. Before brushing the buns with an egg and milk mixture, then sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds. Unless you prefer them nature

Step 9

Bake for about 15 minutes, covering the loafs with parchment paper halfway through cooking, to prevent them from browning too much on top. Once cooked, take them out of the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
