Today I wanted to share with you, a delicious beef tartare with Cajun spices. Fans of meat and especially tartare, this recipe will only please you. This changes from the traditional beef tartare to capers, pickles etc…

This Louisiana-born Cajun spice blend flavours stews, rice, marinades and grilled meats, fish, mixed salads and scrambled eggs.
Preparation: 15 minutes
- 600g rumsteck
- 1 large red onion
- 40g peanuts
- 4g Cajun spices
- Soy sauce
- Olive or sesame oil
- Salt, pepper
- 1 small bunch of parsley or coriander depending on your preferences
Peel and chop the red onion. Then wash and peel the parsley or coriander and finely chop it.
Coarsely crush the peanuts.
Cut rumsteck strips into small dice
In a bowl, mix beef with chopped onion, soy sauce, olive or sesame oil, coriander and peanuts. Season and add the Cajun spices.
Arrange tartare on small plates or glasses and finish with coriander.

For a jar of Cajun spices
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 2 tst dried oregano
- 1 tbsp dried thyme
- 1 tst dried pink onion
- 2 bird peppers
- A slice of dried garlic knife
- 1 tst black pepper
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- A pinch of salt
Fend the bird peppers and remove the seeds. You can leave some so it stings more.
Mix all the spices and powder them with a coffee grinder, pestle or blender. It's ready!
